Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $10.25 per hour for a 30 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, Red Cross Babysitting course.

Children’s Ages: Kindergarten age (4 - 5 years)

Work Setting: Employer’s home

Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Read to children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, Care for pets, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Take children to and from school and to appointments

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home

Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking

Other Information: 30-40 hours per week.
