Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Registered Clinical Counsellor.

Work Setting: Residential treatment centre

Area of Counselling Specialization: Anger management, Anxiety/panic, Assertiveness training, Behaviour disorders, Conflict resolution, Childhood and adolescent issues, Depression, Family and marriage, Life transitions, Mediation, Personal growth and self-development, Rehabilitation, Sexual abuse and trauma recovery, Stress management, Substance abuse

Type of Clients: Adolescents, Families

Specific Skills: Interview clients, Prepare case histories, Assess clients’ problems, Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them, Counsel clients and provide psychotherapy, Evaluate effectiveness of counselling programs and interventions, Evaluate clients’ progress in resolving identified problems and movement towards defined objectives, Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessment, Write reports (assessment, follow-up, progress, court reports, etc.)

Additional Skills: Supervise other counsellors, social service staff and assistants
